Our French Edge Skiving Tool has a 1/4 inch blade for making gouges, skives and channels. This leather tool is also great for countersinking holes for rivets. Countersunk holes are great when you don't want something like a knife blade to scrape over the metal rivet when putting your knife in the sheath. The contoured handle gives a comfortable fit for your hand. If you skive the edge of the leather at a 45 degree miter angle you can make a box corner for a right angle corner. This leather tool will thin leather edges if you want to feather the leather to make the transition smooth for the middle leather layer.
