Although this buckle is solid brass, it is plated in chrome to give it the silver color. Of course any of our buckles plated in chrome or nickel contain nickel which people with nickel allergies will react to. The silver colored stainless steel buckles also contains nickel which could cause a nickel allergic reaction.
