These leather staples for loops are made of solid brass. Because the base metal is solid brass, the leather staples will not rust if your product is used outside and exposed to a wet environment. They are great for attaching the ends of belt keepers together or leather loops for dog collars. Some leather workers may even use this leather staple in a series as a decoration on the leather like you would studs.
Simply punch a slit at each end of the leather loop, insert the legs (prongs) of the leather, bend over with needle nose pliers and then squeeze them tight against the leather. A sewing awl makes a nice slit for which to insert the legs (prongs).
The leather staples are 3/8-inch long X 3/16-inch wide. The legs are 5/16-inch tall. The leather loop is not included.
